My passion for cinema
I remember watching Ang Lee’s ‘Life of Pi’ at the cinemas back in 2012. I was 7 years old and I still vividly remember that whole experience. The film that was set in Pondicherry, a former French colony in India connected to me on very deep level. The themes of faith, survival and the power of storytelling resonated with me. This was the moment I fell in love with the art of film making. The influence visual storytelling/films had in portraying ideas, themes and important social messages fascinated me from a young age. Throughout my later years as I immersed myself in more great films, I fell more in love with the artform. Thus the dream of one day writing and directing my own film began.
"For me, filmmaking combines everything. That's the reason I've made cinema my life's work. In films, painting and literature, theatre and music come together. But a film is still a film."
- Akira Kurosawa
There's something magical about filmmaking. It turns simple ideas into powerful visual stories. For me, as someone who truly loves and admires this art form, it's more than just watching movies. Every well framed shot, every smooth cut, and every honest performance speaks to something deep inside me. I’m inspired by the teamwork behind it all and how many creative minds come together to build new worlds and stir real emotions. A great film feels like stepping into someone else's mind, and the whole journey from script to screen shows the true power of storytelling. In every film I love, I see a piece of myself and the passion I carry for this incredible art.
